Casting on Dry Land Cover
My former Marketing Manager at New Frontiers is also a prolific writer and columnist for the local Santa Ynez paper. Every few years he arranges his favorite columns into a single volume and releases them as a book.
He commissioned the cover art from a friend and artist but didn’t account for the spine and back cover of the book when giving her the dimensions. I was tasked with extending the supplied artwork to account for the bleeds and wrap around the book’s spine and back cover. I also used the artwork’s hand lettering on the spine of the book.
Ron was extremely pleased with how I extended the artwork and my choice of typeface for the teaser on the back cover.
